Hearing loss is a condition that affects millions of people around the world. In the United States, one in eight people above the age of 12 experience hearing loss. There are many famous people in that group. Here are 10 athletes and celebrities who cope with this condition in their lives.

  1. Lance Allred

He was born deaf and was the first deaf NBA player. He wears hearing aids on both ears. He experienced difficult times in school and from coaches because of his hearing loss.

  1. Rob Lowe

His unilateral hearing loss was caused by undiagnosed mumps when he was an infant. Rob is deaf in his right ear. He is very frank about his difficulties in noisy social situations, such as noisy restaurants, which arise from his hearing loss.

The former president of the United States has hearing loss which is attributed to the listening of rock and roll during his youth, hunting rifles, and noisy political parties. He was found to have moderate hearing loss during an annual physical. He has difficulty hearing in noisy environments such as crowd rooms and political rallies.
